MSU Holding Halloween Event for Kids
Halloween is just around the corner and the holiday can be scary and spooky-even for parents. Sometimes, Halloween isn’t the safest for young children. Maybe you live on a busy street or maybe your neighborhood doesn’t offer trick-or-treating. Whatever the circumstance may be, students involved in Fraternity and Sorority Life at Michigan State University have a solution for you: Safe Halloween.
Safe Halloween is quite literally what it sounds like-a safe alternative for Halloween festivities that provides children and families a fun and secure Halloween experience. Safe Halloween takes place on M.A.C Avenue in East Lansing, Michigan, where M.A.C and surrounding streets are blocked off from traffic. MSU’s fraternities and sororities, as well as other student organizations and vendors, set up tables with candy and games such as ring toss and cornhole as well as inflatables and haunted houses.
While Safe Halloween is put on for the kids, it is also one of MSU’s Fraternity and Sorority Life’s main philanthropy events. This year, all proceeds from Safe Halloween will go towards Child and Family Charities of East Lansing, whose mission is to “strengthen and support children, families, and individuals as they evolve and grow in a changing community.”
MSU’s Safe Halloween is a free event for children and families of all ages. The event will take place on Sunday, October 27th from 3-5pm. Happy Halloween!
